Exit Sign FAQ |
 |
| How
long does it last? |
Life:
The ability to charge up (activate & energize),
then emit light in the dark, does not degrade with
time. It is not like a battery that eventually loses
its ability to perform. In new construction it can
be considered to last the life of the building.
Visibility:
Our sign is visible much longer than an 8 Hour sign
tested to the old standard test using Dark Adaptation
of the Eye criteria. Depending on the intensity
of the activating light, the total darkness of a
room, and dark adapted eyes, our sign is visible
for over 24 hours. |
|
 |
| Is
it radioactive? |
| No.
Other types of signs not produced by us contain
radioactive gases inside glass tubes, which energize
photoluminescent pigments. |
|
 |
| What
powers it? |
Our
product's pigments are energized by light.
Caution: Minimum 5 foot-candles external fluorescent
illumination must be present on the sign face at
all times of building occupancy. |
